Geoenvironmental Engineer 2017-01-ABQ01

INTERA Incorporated is seeking a self-motivated, mature, and bright Engineer who is interested in consulting with an established group of professionals.  Do you want to work on projects with other geoenvironmental professionals to help solve complex problems and gain exposure to different markets and business environments? In this position, you will be working with both junior staff and principals to successfully execute challenging project work. As a member of the team, we will be counting on you to interface with clients, set up and manage project schedules and budgets, use your technical prowess to guide and mentor junior staff, successfully deliver projects, and exceed our clients’ expectations.  This will require that you have significant experience in various facets of geoenvironmental engineering including soil and groundwater remediation; reclamation/closure of milling, mining, and waste disposal sites; municipal solid waste landfills; and applied civil and geotechnical engineering for earthwork and environmental projects.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or geological engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of applied, relevant experience
  • Active Professional Engineering registration (civil), with licensure in New Mexico or the ability to become licensed in New Mexico and other states as required
  • AutoCAD experience for civil engineering applications
  • Skills and experience in both technical evaluation and report preparation; as well as design experience and development of contract documents (technical plans, specifications, and contract language)
  • Fantastic people skills, writing skills and the ability to deliver captivating presentations
  • The ability to work with a project team or independently to complete technical work
  • The ability to travel to project sites or meetings

Desired Education, Experience, and Skills

  • A Master’s degree in civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering
  • Experience, training, and/or certification in hydrogeology and/or geology
  • Field experience in drilling oversight and sample collection; and construction oversight and administration
