NTERA Incorporated is looking to fill an Entry-Level Groundwater Modeler position in our Richland, Washington office to support the services that we provide to the Hanford Site. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior industry experts who are passionate about mentoring and helping the next generation grow and develop in the field of subsurface flow and contaminant transport modeling. As part of our talented modeling team, you’ll contribute to innovative solutions for the Hanford Site, one of the largest and most complex environmental cleanup projects in the world.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support on flow and transport modeling projects under the direction of INTERA’s senior staff. This includes:
- Compiling, synthesizing, and analyzing data to develop conceptual site and numerical models
- Performing numerical flow and transport modeling of the subsurface
- Creating inputs and postprocessing and evaluating outputs from groundwater models
- Preparing reports and technical presentations for clients, regulators, and other stakeholders
- Implementing and complying with Department of Energy Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures
Required Qualifications
- BS or BA in Engineering, Geology, or a closely related field
- Solid foundational knowledge of numerical methods, MODFLOW codes, computer programming, and GIS software
- Programming experience with Python
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a similar field with an emphasis on groundwater hydrology and/or groundwater modeling
- 2-4 years of applicable experience with a primary emphasis on quantitative hydrogeology and/or groundwater modeling
Expected salary range: $70,000 — $96,000 depending on degree and experience
