Environmental Scientist / Engineer 2017-20-HOU02

INTERA Incorporated is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Engineer for our Houston, Texas, office experienced in site characterization, environmental forensics, environmental remediation and litigation support as well as demonstrated success in business development. The chosen candidate will serve as a technical expert on a wide-range of projects while leading the growth of our environmental business in the Houston area. This position will be supported by a talented team of engineers, geoscientists, geochemists, GIS analysts and software developers in offices across the company committed to delivering excellence with every solution for our clients.

This position is based in our Houston, Texas, office. In Houston, we work on projects for municipalities, state and federal agencies, water and electric utilities, attorneys, oil/gas and mining companies, and private businesses.

Desired Education and Skills

  • A Master’s or PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology or related field

  • 8 years of relevant experience in environmental science or engineering including site characterization, forensics, remediation and litigation support

  • Experience with business development for public or private sector entities

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist in Texas

  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage projects within budget and time constraints

  • Ability to travel to project sites, to meet with clients and to other INTERA offices as needed
