Entry Level Ecological Risk Assessment Specialist - Richland, WA 19-23-WA07

Our Richland, Washington, office is seeking an entry-level Ecological Risk Assessment Specialist to collaborate with some of the industry’s most talented professionals on the largest environmental cleanup in U.S history. Job Description

Our perfect candidate is a self-starter who is eager and willing to learn from an experienced senior professional. Entry level experience with terrestrial ecological risk evaluations is required, and a familiarity with human health risk assessment methods is a plus. With this knowledge, you will provide support a variety of INTERA projects and multi-disciplinary professionals. Key responsibilities include performing ecological risk assessments in a manner consistent with USEPA and/or state regulatory guidelines and requirements.

Assignments include:

  • Data compilation including ecological effects and exposure data
  • Conducting scientific literature research and reviews
  • Database development
  • Ecological risk assessment documentation and report writing

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of applicable experience with a primary emphasis on ecological toxicology and risk assessment
    • Probabilistic risk assessment experience is considered a plus
    • Experience with statistical and risk assessment software (e.g., proUCL, RESRAD-BIOTA, or similar) is also a plus
  • B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Toxicology, Ecotoxicology, Biology, or a related scientific field
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • U.S citizenship in order to fulfill government contract requirements
